Art Numinous

Our website is a portal to the extraordinary - a place where art ignites imagination and stirs the soul. We exist at the intersection of tradition and innovation, weaving timeless inspiration into contemporary vision.

In 2016–2017, Dwight Godfrey invited his close friend and teacher, the acclaimed artist Victor Loukianov, to Georgia’s lush landscapes. There, amidst Southern light and creative fervor, we birthed a collection of 30+ paintings—each a dialogue between worlds. This collaboration became my compass: a relentless pursuit to offer quality art inspired by numerous cultures.

           Our Story

Dwight Lowell Godfrey, Managing Director of Art Numinous, traces his lineage to full-blooded Cherokee grandparents born within the historic Cherokee Nation in northern Georgia. This heritage instilled in him a profound love for nature, a deep reverence for spiritual traditions, and an enduring connection to the land and its culture.

Drawing upon his ancestral Cherokee roots, Dwight  cultivated an intuitive sensitivity to emotional expression in painting - a gift reflected across his diverse body of work created in the USA, Russia, Republic of Georgia, Armenia, and France.

We invite you to experience our artworks, where every piece is imbued with this legacy of passion and cultural resonance. May they awaken in you both joy and profound inspiration.

Our Goal
Is to offer original oil paintings and museum-quality reproductions of the originals (Giclée).

What is Giclée?
A giclée print is a high-quality fine art reproduction created using specialized inkjet printers. The term "giclée" derives from the French word gicler ("to spray" or "to squirt"), referencing the printer’s precision ink application.

Renowned for their archival quality, vibrant color accuracy, and exceptional detail, giclée prints surpass standard reproductions in longevity, value, and artistic fidelity—making them the premier choice for artists and collectors alike.

Giclee (Archival Fine Art) Prints use pigment-based inks on acid-free, archival-quality papers or canvas. Often textured or matte finishes that mimic watercolor or other fine art papers.

  • These are the cream of the crop. High resolution (often 1440–2880 dpi), wide color gamut, and tested for decades of fade resistance.

  • Fine art reproductions, photography, and limited edition prints where detail, color fidelity, and longevity are paramount.

  • Typically printed at very high resolution (e.g., 1440 to 2880 dpi) to capture nuanced color and detail. Giclée printers can have more ink channels (sometimes 8 to 12), allowing a broader range of colors. This is a key. The more channels, the wider the color gamut, the more broader the spectrum of colors the printer can reproduce. that is the difference between normal prints, and Giclée reproductions.
Once the Giclée is printed on canvas and dries, the artist embellishes it with gel and brushstrokes to imitate the original texture. After drying, the painting is signed and dated. A certificate of authenticity can then be issued upon request, classifying it as an original. The financial advantage of a Giclée is that it offers an exact reproduction of the original artwork at one-third of the price.
